I really enjoy doing overhead work...my goal is to hit my bodyweight of 350 for a standing shoulder press...currently i can throw around 315 for a double...so i would say i am around 330 maybe more...is that a respectable standing overhead press for a drug free shw?
I can seated shoulder press 365 also...

You bet your bippy that's a respectable SOHP! That kind of strength is respectable for a guy that weighs 400! Yeah, there are superfreaks that can do 1.5x bodyweight and all that, but in my opinion (I've been in and around the sport since about 1984/85), anyone who can go over their head strictly with their bodyweight has done something impressive.
Anyone know what a bippy is?
:')

Yea that's strong dude. Doug could you provide a definition for "bippy"? I found definitions on Dictionary.com for nippy, dippy, hippy, tippy and zippy-- but no bippy. lol

Bippy: BIP-py; noun That thing you have that you can bet without having to pay up.
:')
Hey, Ernie, I think the leaning back is more a balance issue. I could be wrong. I've just noticed that when I go heavier overhead, if I try and stand perfectly straight up I feel like I'm falling forward. If I try them seated, I have to arch my back, for the same reason. Regardless, that's still a load of weight to be throwing overhead!

Thank you everyone for the compliments...
funny, everyone always asks me about my flat bench, and i really cant tell you because i dont do flat bench that much...i do a lot of incline and work my way up to 405 for several reps...raw of course...
What do you think my max would be? Guesstimating?

Aw, man, now you ask the hard questions! Wow, if you're hitting 405 for multiple reps on the incline, if you were doing similar flat bench for reps, I'd guess a range around 450-475. That's only a wild guess, though. I have no idea what kind of flat bench work you're doing. I'm happy when I get 225 for a double on the incline! They're hateful. I hardly ever work them. :')

Hey Ernie, if I was guessing....and that is hard to do...LOL
I would guess 450-500....I usually can flat bench about 60-75 lbs more than I incline.
If your not doing it all the time..it is hard to guess.
Big numbers though...Glory to God!

Wow, those are great numbers, I'm guessing you're over 450 and probably close to 500 on the flat bench...I suddenly feel very weak. God Bless, William

is that off the floor or with a clean or out of a rack at shoulder height? either way it is quite impressive.
