Those ego checking workouts are good sometimes. They work and humble us at the same time.

Roger that, Will! :')
Lately I've been kinda busy at work, so I've only been reading here, not posting. I figure the other board I frequent, I have a better shot at ministering TO folks, so that's where I've been posting. So I'm going to encapsulate several weeks training into this post here.
Last week: Bench, heavy day, 265x5x5, paused last rep each set Squat, they are all heavy no matter how much weight, 430x3x3 Praise GOD! Deadlift, first workout since the Dr's visit, 455x1, 465 for 3 singles
This week: Bench, heavy, 280 for 3, 3, 2 (not a good day) Squat: paused rock-bottom squats with chains, 315+chains for 4x3 or 5x3 can't remember Bench, light, 250x6x2 all paused, CGBP 250x4, 3 Tomorrow is auxiliary deadlift day. Romanians, SLDL, maybe rack pulls or GMs, haven't decided.
God Bless!

It's been an up/down week but I thought I'd share the blessings of 'em all.
Monday I actually had a good bench day! Now that the gasps of shock and surprise have subsided, here's my definition of good....... 135x10, 135x5 185x5 paused 225x3 paused Working sets 285x4, paused last rep. 285x3x4 no pauses, two fingers help on the last rep. I had shoutin' time at the gym.
Tuesday, squat, usually my best day of the week. Warmup 135x10x2 225x5 315x3 405x1 The planned working sets was 435x3x3, here's the "rest of the story" 435x1, 435x1, 405x1, called it off. In ALL things give thanks, and I am thankful that I am even able to squat at all.
Today was back/biceps, one I hardly ever post, but today was a good day. Straight bar low pulls 135x10 185x5 225x5 250x5 275x3 the most I've ever tried, got 3 reps. The blessings just rolled in the floor they were dripping off me so hard! :')
Curls reverse, bar only, barx20 regular, 115x5, 145x5, 165x5, 185x1
High pulls 180x5 210x5 240x3, the last two didn't touch my chest but I was stoked anyway. Most I've ever put on the machine for high pulls.
God Bless!

Looks like you have been having some fun! I went into the gym yesterday, laid down and played with my medicine ball for about 20 minutes and shut the lights off and went back to the house and ate a huge bowl of spaghetti and garlic bread!

Wow, I haven't posted here in over a month! My bad! Well, the training has gone very well, thanks to the LORD! The bodyweight is hovering around 177-178, so I can still eat this week and weigh in Saturday. Without dieting. BIG thanks to the LORD! Worked out my openers yesterday. Looks like I'll open with 440/275/475.
I'll post once I get back to technology, and let yall know how the meet went.
God Bless!

BWT: 176.8

Wow.... I definitely need to drop by more often.... haven't posted since 7/30......
Well, instead of posting EVERYTHING I've done since then... how 'bout I just post this week's Cliff Notes version?
Monday: bench. Did the Buckeye 310 routine. Got all the reps in, even paused the 93% and the four 80% presses. Praise the LORD! Tuesday: squat. Did a modified Buckeye 475 squat routine. Tried it for a laugh, liked it, will probably do this routine for about 6 weeks. Wednesday and Thursday are auxiliary stuff for me. 'Nuff said. Today: deadlift. Worked up to 455 for 7 singles, 2 minutes break, held the last one for 30 seconds to work static grip strength. Ouch.... think I'm going to go cry now....
:')
Have a BLESSED weekend!

I told my spotter this morning that tomorrow and Thursday I probably won't "feel" like giving thanks, so I better get it all in today! :')
Got to the gym WAY earlier than usual, with all intents on doing the Buckeye bench routine on squats. Haven't been able to complete the entire program yet due to my normal time constraints. This morning I walked in the gym at 6:43 and finished my last rep right around 7:40. I learned the Buckeye squat routine won't work for me on a normal basis. On to the workout......
Warmup: 135x10 Now the good stuff: 300x8 330x6 375x4 410x3 430x2 445x1 375x4
Alternated calf raises, 290x20, up until about 7:15-7:20 when time started to be an issue.
I think I have about 6 "p"s in my GPP after this workout!
:')
God Bless!

Okay, so it's only been 7-1/2 months since I posted a workout.... Guess it's time for an update.
In late April I had finally gotten my bench up to around 330-335, then strained a delt. Or so I thought. Since then it's acted more like a rotator cuff injury, so my bench numbers are way WAY off. That's okay, though.
Typical squat routine lately: Warmups: 135x10 225x5 315x3 405x1 Working sets: 470x1 430x2 (shooting for 3 before I bump the heavy set up any) Superset every set with calf raises
Bench: Typically use the Buckeye routine, lately it's been 5x135x7
Deadlift: Warmup: 135x10 225x5 315x3 405x1 Singles - mini pyramid: 455, 475, 495, 475, 455 405x5
Opposite week deadlift workout: Romanian DL: 3x405x5 SLDL: 3x315x5
That's about it lately.
God Bless.
