I lift in a fed called "100% Raw". We currently don't use knee wraps due to recoil, but are considering using them due to safety. Our fed prez has asked us to get input from folks outside the fed. If any of yall wish to contribute, google the fed (so I don't get in trouble for posting a fed website here ;D) and go to "interact" "forum".
Thanks, and God Bless. Doug P.

Doug, we have no problem with you posting organizations at all here. As long as they are drug free/drug tested and you feel as if they are good outlets for Christians. I know Paul Bossi very well, in fact he got me started in the trophy business and his meet was my very first full meet. I think it was 2000 in Elizabeth City.
God Bless, Mike
Ps.....I get about 50-75 LBS out of knee wraps. I do think they are assisted. I also think if he wants to include wrist wraps and knee wraps in a division, that would be fair.

www.rawpowerlifting.com/index.htmThe above link is the 100% raw site. I will post it so Doug wont get in trouble......LOL. I am lifting in their world bench press meet on 11-19-05. Seems like a good organization. It is drug free and totally raw. Just a belt. Knee wraps: To me it is a safety issue. A wrap helps hold your stuff together and prevents injury. It is a little supportive but the safety is worth it. Wrist wraps: I have no problem with them. I like them for comfort. They are not supportive and I cant bench more using them.

Here is the post I put on the 100% raw forum.
I vote yes on the knee and wrist wraps. I think that wraps and a belt still qualifies as raw lifting. Wraps have been around as long as belts have. Guys like Ed Coan, Capt. Kirk and Steve Goggins have all said they consider wraps and a belt raw lifting. I know the knee wraps do add some pounds to the lift but I believe they are a valuable safety tool. I also believe more lifters would be willing to take off their bench shirts and squat suits and do raw meets if they could still use their wraps. Even regular, every day people who lift weights and bodybuilders realize the safety benefits of using wraps. Many of them use knee wraps for their heavy sets. Ronnie Coleman is one. If bodybuilders and non-competing people who never go for one rep maxes realize the safety benefits I think powerlifters should.

Dont mean to be the oddball here, but raw should be raw, no belt, no wraps, no nothing. Just you, some shorts, t-shirt, shoes, and a bar. Raw, assisted, and safe are 3 different things and raw is definatly not always the safe thing to do, but to call the fed 100% raw and use wraps and a belt is not raw.

I appreciate ALL the input! Thane, I'm 99% with you, although I say keep the belt. I have had back issues for years and appreciate the supportive (not rebound) qualities of the belt.
Tom, thanks for keeping me out of trouble. :') And Mike, thanks for the clarification.
Shane, I've already posted to the other forum what a great reply I thought yours was. :')
God Bless all. Doug
(Tom, looking forward to meeting you in person!)
