Lift anything and you Will be accepted

Hi to all Posters and readers of CPOA forums. I believe there may be those out there who do not feel or unsure if they belong to a Power Lifting Christian Bible Forum. One might assume they would need to Lift 350 plus on the bench press and at least 405 on the Dead Lifts. If this is your thinking to be a member poster at CPOA, I have something to say on this matter. Friends do you like lifting as one of your hobbies? Well as simple as that is the only qualification to qualify to post here and with Christian Fellowship with other members.

So if you lift just to one, Fine. If your a Body Builder, Great, if you have Bow Flex or anything like that, if you like to lift rocks or other objects to build strength, if you are semi Power Lifter or a full Heavy lifting Power Lift all these Categories Qualify to fit in her eat CPOA forums.

That's right if you like to lift at any obtainable Goal or schedule and you want to share your faith with others then CPOA is the perfect place. Is the Place to go the original intention of the forum was designed for Power Lifters to fellowship in one place. But over time it made more sense that to bring together all lifters and believers in one place at one forum. Also this is a Globally Friendly environment accepting all people from all Nations who would like to join here with us. English though is the one requirement that all other users will understand one another here.

Remember also to share your Lifting and routines you want to share on the board. But only lifting and resistance training topics. The Board does not advocate aerobic, Karate classes or Swimming classes. This is specially for those who Lift Weights or other Objects of their Training. So if you have Swimming classes of Bike Spin class are not the routines to be promoted because Mike the administrator started this as a Professional Power Lifting Christian forum. . . In respect I am keeping this in the Lifting restance aspect of Body Workout and training. . If you do train outside of weights in your own time that is not only good but also as for Swimming is a great over all exercise along with Weigh training.

So bring your your Barbells, Dumbbells, Bow flex and weight machines, and resistance bands along with your Trusty Bible and join us here at CPOA Bible God Believing lifting Christian forum.. Please feel free to make yourself feel at home here. As for my myself I currently workout out solo. It's why it helps me to be able to come here and share my routines or over all experience for makes us all feel we have a partnership motivating one another lifting progress.

Lastly remember this. While we are able to endure Hours of Hard work and dedication to our Workout Routines remember this one thing. Our True strength is from God who made our Body in this design. God forming our Skeleton and Muscles as a unitary Body. See what the Lord has done. That man who lays on the side of the fence become weak and brittle from all his constant rest. For this man does not realize the Body that God had Created in His Divine plan of Work. But the man who is wise shall go into the field. And this man shall work in that field and he will experience a Physical resistance in his work. . . And the man shall gain strength with his arms pulling and pushing and his legs lifting and walking. Then the man will ask Lord have I done well? Have I pleased you by doing Work? Is it pleasant to your sight that I have gone into the Field to labor rather than lying on the side of the fence? The Lord says to the man. Yes you have done well. I made your body to have good use. I did make such Dead instruments being of idle who lay on the ground like dead leaves. For the Lord does not like much idleness. But you to keep your self occupied in Labor and even with the enjoyment for life that you may may know the Lord has made you. The man says but Lord I thought you were a God of spirit and that we should only meditate in Silence. Are we not live as an actual spirit to forget our Physical Bodies?

Then the Lord said for unto Man I have given him a body and a purpose for the Body I had made for in everything I make has a special purpose in the design of God's doing. . . So the lesson is if we don't use our abilities we are Idle people. Imagine how God looks upon us. So it is a good thing for those who want to spend time Lifting using their abilities to train their Muscle and strength. . Because the way God did this we are able to adapt to more resistance and building up muscles from Head to toe which I am including facial muscles Feel good then that you do Work and or chores and you also have a Lifting routine program. . You do good to your body, just the way God wanted us to be our Physical bodies being used pleases God in the Work He has finished. His living creation all mankind.

Faith I was just reading some other recent posts and noticed in one that you were replying to regardless.
You stated in it that you were vision impaired.

I was just curious and if you don't mind could you please explain how is it that you are able still to do any lifting?
How is it that you change plates or how is it that you if you were to go to a gym that you get around?

If this bothers to you to answer then you don't have to answer.

Thanks for answering. I will share generously how I go through my work outs. First to tell you I had my vision over 30 years. I had the habit all lifters had one time or another. I used to drop the weights on the floor only to clean up when I felt it got too far out of hand. That was in my young days when I was lifting only at home. It’s a bad habit to just to place weights all over the floor. I did not believe in Racks back then. As I used to visit 24 Hour fitness in High school I got used to the idea of Plates being on the racks. . Funny thing is I would leave at least a 45 pound plate on each side as I was leaving. Thinking who is going to be lifting less than this? I had the mentality that everyone should try to become a strong lifter... I wanted to motivate my friends lifting weights as I did. . some did and others did not. .
 
I was probably one of ten at my school that had a Health club membership after school hours. Cause you can tell who was lifting and not. . I was into Body Building Magazines and wanted to be a Professional one day.
 
On and off after High school I tried to start up and keep going.. I never could until about 8 years later when I made a come back. I finally broke my old school record of finally lifting 275 One rep. . and in that very same week I did 295. but I almost injured my shoulders cause I was not ready for that yet. So 275 was my max 2002. 295 was my accomplishment but while I made it..it was like an arm wrestling attempt against the weight. . .
 
I wanted to share this first that while I am blind I am not weak of a person. I promote Body Building Power Lifting to others even those at a disadvantage in this sport. People see that I am being guided. I am not a tower sized person either. They are surprised how much effort I can put in to my Lifting. It does not matter if you can see or not see. A weight is a weight and one needs to use the right resistance to over come the challenge especially in Heavy lifting or very high rep numbers.
 
After the flood in the basement I did not want to bench down there anymore. But if I were to lift there I kept the rack with in a distance of a few short steps. I put my hand out to feel the bar then I walk along to the other side to put the other plate on. That is if I do this alone. But often my girlfriend has been willing to help me change them together. . her on one side and me on the other one. .

This surely is a lot faster. She is not afraid to pick up 45lb. plates. But I tell her please keep it close to your body. At the fitness center she or someone else needs to guide me to each machine or Free weight equipment. . I ask for help to assist weight change together for the rack.. me on one side and anyone helping me on the other. . So if I am lifting really heavy I will also ask for a spotter. . I can’t help from asking others. When I used to see I used to help others change plates by just volunteering to help a lifter. It is what Jesus inspired me how to behave at the Fitness clubs. For all the years before that I was worldly and never helped anyone with anything. God makes all the difference. . as for weight stack machines I need to count the number of holes to know how much weight to change the pin.
 
One of the hardest exercise to do not having vision are any and most Leg standing exercises. This includes Squats and Lunges I need to rely a lot of balance and concentration. . so every set of squats over 135 requires a spotter to be there with me at all times. . with Lunges I don’t know if I am going straight as I should.. but it's safer doing them with dumbbells in your hands. It's another one I should be closely watched by someone. . Yet Bench and Squat are the only 2 primary where I need a close spotter.

Most everything else I can do on my own until someone gets me to go to the next machine. When my girlfriend helps me we can go at a pretty good rate of time. . I still think for every one set I can do a seeing person could have covered 3 of them.. so Yeah it kind of does slow me down in walking as I have to be careful especially not to hit my head on something to knock me out. So the person who is guiding also must watch I don't get near the one who is using machine equipments that goes into the aisles. . So those who have decent vision do have an advantage to watch out for dangerous obstacles. . To me every step is is always cautious and uncertain. . So it is best for me to be in the large Warehouse site Fitness and Weight training Establishments. I feel safest on the Eliptacor or stationary Bike. . no one to run into an and no one to run into me. My safe time is cardio Machines.
