Scripture and article on bondage to sin?

I am meeting with a brother whom is in some kind of bondage with sin! I don't know the whole situation, but want to be prepared with scripture and a good biblical based article if needed. Does anyone have either? I can find some passages, but want to be able to hand him some stuff to read in addition to talking/praying with him.
