Hello board members... I just found this group and wanted to start things the way that we should start ALL things we do - with prayer. I was saved almost 2 years ago, and as my wife and I prepare to welcome our second son into the world, I am working with a counselor and my pastor dealing with emotional/psychological issues from my past. I am finding a renewed ability to focus on the things that truly matter, and I find the Lord calling me to get myself back into the gym, back into shape, and back to what I was doing best - which was lifitng hard and heavy. I ask you, my brothers and sisters in Christ to lift me and yourselves up to the Lord, to offer renewed and continual focus in our Christian walk, as well as our training. Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. - Romans 12:1
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. - Phillipians 4:13I ask this in Jesus' Holy Name!

And consider my favorite; 1Tim 4:7-8
7Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. 8For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
Focus on the "here and now" and the blessings that you have. Always keep it real and do all things to glorify God. When the road gets tough, keep your eyes set on Him. He is calling you to follow Him.
Good luck and train hard as you return to the gym. But, always remember to pray, serve and praise Him.
In Him, Jim
