Weighed in Friday morning at 67.4 (148). After eating and rehydrating, I decided, just for the fun of it, to go back later that night to reweigh myself. I weighed 157.
Squats
Opener:556...Chalk it up. I got a lift passed in canvas. Official PR.
2nd:600...Came back on my heels as I started to descend. Spotters had to catch me.
3rd:600 again...Lost groove and dumped weight.
The biggest reason I had trouble with my squats, aside from technique, was that the monolift did not go as low as I needed it for me to clear the racks. We tried putting two mats, then four mats to raise me. On my 3rd, I caught the rack again, so I lost air and tightness trying to reset. This caused me to lift out of my groove and ultimately dump the weight. Still, 556 is a 27#PR.
Bench
Opener:297...Three whites
2nd:325...Very fast off chest, but wrists were ahead of my elbows and weight went back over my face.
3rd:325 again...I tried to set up a little different to keep my shirt down. I didn't have a real firm grip on the bar. The weight came off fast again. The weight started coming back and I tried to correct, but couldn't.
I'm disappointed with this. I should have made one of these. The good thing was that I was still in the meet. I had originally planned on opening with 314. But because I didn't feel real goodfter squats, I decided to lower my attempt. No bench PR today.
Deadlift
Opener:363...Easy
2nd:402...Easy. Finally broke the 400 barrier. PR
3rd:424...Came off floor really good. Started shaking at the knees, but was able to complete the lift. Three reds...hitching.
I deadlifted using Predator briefs and single ply Fusion. This worked really well. It gave me great power off the floor. Officially, it's just a 20# PR, but unofficially, 44#. I'll be using this combo from now on for deadlifting.
The final number...1256.6...a 55# PR since Nationals in April.
Oh yeah, almost forgot. I got Best Lifter for AAPF Masters Division.
