In one week will be the WV State. This will be my first meet since my spinal injury [July 06] and hip injury [October 06]. I am planning on opening with something there should be no doubt about getting and attempt to get my third meet for a 9 for 9. If I get close to my PRs that day, that will just be the icing on the cake.
Here is what I plan for my first attempts: Strict Curls: 45.0 kilo or 99.0 pounds Bench Press: 115.0 kilo or 254.0 pounds Deadlift: 162.5 kilo or 358.0 pounds
I think these will be safe attempt. I appreciate any input or feedback about these. Currently, I am weighing 176, so it looks like I will be in 181-pound weight class. This will also be my first meet in the MPF division, now that I am in the Guard.

No squat in this meet? Never done a curl meet...that would be fun.

No squat in this meet? Never done a curl meet...that would be fun. Power Sports allows squats for individual lift but not toward total.

Jim, There was 130 entries for 101 lifters. This was the NASA WV State. Biggest state meet I have ever seen. Lot of good lifters, including watching Andy Shield doing a 700+ bench.

Wow!!!
Did they run two platforms? Or, where they able to through the meet with one? Did most lifters lift full power or were some doing one or two lifts?
Where in West Virginia was the meet held?

This was held at Ravenswood, WV. One platform for curls and squats - only one flight for each. Then two platforms for bench press [7 flights?] and deadlifts [5 flights]. You had competitors for Powerlifting, Power Sports [full meet or individual lifts], Bench Press only, and Push/Pull. So, there is a range of lifters. There was 15 youth lifters [under age 13] and one guy who was 71 and lifters everywhere between. There was 5-6 states represented, if I remember correctly.

Doug, Thanks. Yes, the Lord is good. It may not be my PR in either the curl or the DL, but it was a good sign from the Lord of His healing and blessings.
