My foot has been swollen for about 1.5 weeks. Doctors are pretty sure it is gout. They put me on some vicodin and small steroid dosaged to knock out the inflamation and pain.
Keep me in your prayers!
God Bless, Mike

Mike, That is a long time to endure a gout attack. I've suffered with gout for a long time up until the early '90's. I cleaned up the diet and lost some weight and have only had a few minor attcks since. I used to get them 3-4 times a year and was taking allopurenol (sp?). I stopped the medication years ago.
Gout has been often referred to as the "rich man's disease" due to the kinds of diets that can trigger attacks. And when I suffered an attack, they were very painful.
I hope and pray that you will not endure the frequency or the number I incurred.
Jim

My lack of a diet is the problem. I have been saying for a long time, but I must lose some weight. Diabetes runs in my family as well. My blood pressure was off the chart as well. It was 126 over 106. They said the pain in my foot and high dosage of ibuprofen probably led to the high blood pressure. Just two months ago, I was 121 over 76.
God Bless You All, Mike

Yeah, I had gout several months back in my toe. It was really painful. Didn't really start getting better until I took a couple of Advil. About 3 days later, it was gone.

Mine attacked me in three toes...the last three including the pinky...or whatever it is called toe. You never realize how much weight you put on that toe! Excruciating pain! The swelling is all the way up into my ankle.
