Bubba, those are some impressive numbers!!
My best are as follows:
single ply squat-800 bench-440- deadlift-650
All in the 308's
I did a 765 squat in the 275's once.
Give us some of your training secrets and workout schedule. I am coming back from a back injury.
I trained Westside for many years.

Mike, I train a very similar style to Westide as well ... I have had a major back injury in '97 and the Doc said i would not ever be able to lift over 50 pounds again But GOD said other wise...... I started PL in 03 with my first meet in Blue Springs MO total 1835, and ended there as well in late 04 total 2035...some other things have come up after that meet and GOD needed me to deal with and really rely on HIM and HIM alone....... I was getting a "big head" and not giving him the glory for what he has done in my body..... BE encouraged Mike...God took care of my back he will take care of yours!!!! Monday Speed Bench Tuesday Squat Wednesday Shoulders/ABS/ C.....C.....Ca...r...di...o.. whew that was hard to get out Thursday DL/ Back/ Bi's Friday Heavy bench I use a lot with bands and chains on major lifts and on my accessories as well..... thanks for asking Your numbers look real good too......

I have never lifted in a meet. I do have a question how many pounds will Bench Shirts, Sqaut suits, and DL Suits add to your max.

Pastor Jeff that is a good and tricky question.
I personally get about 70LBS out of a bench shirt.
I have been able to get about 200LBS out of squat suit and knee wraps.
Deadlift suit ....maybe 10-20LBS
I think a lot of this is technique and training in the equipment.
I know some folks whom can get almost 200LBS out of single ply gear in the bench. I am not a big bencher. I believe there is no majic number. A shirt can give you 200LBS out of the hole, but if you don't have the tricep strength to finish the lift...it doesn't matter. Same thing with squat suit.
Equipment is a crazy monster in itself.
You can't just put on a shirt or suit and hit a 200LB pr right off the bat.

Compete in 165 or 181 weight classes, depending upon meals that week. Best Curl: 145# Best BP: 320# Best DL: 465#
I agree with Mike about the equipment. It depends upon material, how many ply, how good the fit, and the technique of the lifter. There is no "pat" answer. Personally, I lifted less using a bench shirt and squat suit than I did raw.

I'm getting over 100# on my bench shirt, about 50 from my Fusion and probably 150 from my squat gear. The squat gear is a very rough estimate as I never train squat raw. A bear minimum is using a single ply pair of powerpants.
Bryan, if you were getting less from your gear than you were raw, then something was definitely wrong. Your gear did not fit you properly, you had technique issues or you had not trained properly for using gear.

Bryan, if you were getting less from your gear than you were raw, then something was definitely wrong. Your gear did not fit you properly, you had technique issues or you had not trained properly for using gear. I personally think it was the Lord telling me to depend upon Him rather than the equipment. I have to rule out the other physical elements. When I used it, I could get 250 on the bench at a bodyweight of 135, but could raw BP 280 for 1RM. Now, my 1RM is 320 raw and I don't know what the shirt one is. Most people who have watched me bench will tell you that I have nearly text-book form on it, unlike my deadlift - which is more like a back pull! LOL! Also, the shirt was by Inzer - good brand - so that was not the issue. The coaches I had - Jim Bennett and Fred Conley - were both into training with the shirt, so that was not the issue. They worked with me on that twice a week.

I've competed at 165, 181, 198, and have been 220 for about seven years now. I didn't start lifting until I was in my 30's. I'm lifetime drug free with creatine being the only thing I've ever used. I turned 60 last month and will do my first meet as a 60 year old on March 17th in Atalla, Alabama ( AAPF). My last meet as a 59 year old with AAPF I did 1450 on a 6 of 9 day. I should have been 1500 + but missed a couple of lifts I shouldn't have. My personal best are all at over 50 years of age. In the 198 I had a 1500 total, in the 220 at 55 yrs. + I did a 1545. My 220 best are 565 squat, 405 bench, and a 612 deadlift (all meet lifts). I have been ranked in top 100 Powerlifting USA as 198 and in the top 20 Masters list. I have National or World Records with the WABDL, WNPF, USAPL, SPF, AAPF, SE POLICE, And hold the Law Enforcement International Records. I suppose my biggest claim to fame is that I have done 108 meets in my career. God has truly blessed my career and I'm living proof that age is not a barrier and you can do exceptional without any steroid or pro hormone. Remember always, " The harder the battle, the sweeter the victory." Ted
