LESSON 6: THE WAY
Soul Winning Scripture Verses:
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” [Proverbs 11:30]
“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” [Matthew 4:19]
If you have been doing your previous assignments, you should have:
1. Shared your testimony of how you got saved with:
· Another Christian
· An unsaved friend, family member, fellow student, or co-worker
· A complete stranger
2. Invited four different people to church.
3. Memorize Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8, and Romans 10:13.
4. Placed 21 Gospel tracts in various public and private locations.
5. Personally given a Gospel tract to another person that does not fellowship with our congregation.
Staying Humble
We must always remember that we do not deserve Heaven. We cannot earn it by being good or by being religious. If it were not for the grace of God, none of us would go to Heaven.
Verses To Use
You should have Romans 10:13 memorized. This is one of the simplest verses to use to help teach someone how to get saved. Be sure to have your KJV Bible open while you are showing it to the person. With this verse memorized, you can even turn the Bible to face the other person rather than yourself. This will allow them to see that you are not misquoting it.
You may even want to pencil in the references to the following verses by Romans 10:13 so that you can turn to them quickly if the person needs more evidence. Fill in the blanks for these verses.
· “And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: ye, and the gospel.” [Mark 1:15]
· “Then said they unto him, what shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye on him whom he hath sent.” [John 6:28-29]
· “And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be , and thy house.” [Acts 16:30-31]
· “And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to :” [Acts 17:30]
· “That is thou shalt with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be … For whosoever shall upon the name of the Lord shall be .” [Romans 10:9,13]
Most of the time you will not ever need to use these. Most people will admit that Romans 10:13 is true. They will usually admit that they realize that this is the only way that the Bible says that we can get saved. This is what is needed.
Why is it so important to teach someone how to get saved? If someone does not know how to get saved, they won’t. The world won’t tell them how to get saved. The Devil won’t tell them how to get saved. The cults and religious sects won’t tell them how to get saved. God has chosen you and me to be His vessels to carry the Gospel to the lost. It is our responsibility to tell them.
