I couldn't tell because it happened very quickly. Did it feel off? To me you looked a little out of control right before it happened, then you tried to correct and couldn't.

Praise the Lord, nothing serious. The erectors on the left side are sore making it a little uncomfortable to twist in that direction. I can feel a minor twinge in my right knee, but nothing bad. And the right side of my neck hurts, but that was from the first blunder of the day.
I'm sure I'll be fine. Seems like I always have something happen within the final 3 weeks or so leading up to a meet. I'll probably do some rehab work tomorrow instead of my supplemental bench work, then push my final deadlift work to Tuesday.

Thanks Bryan. It was only by the grace of God that I didn't get hurt as bad as I could have.

Could have been ugly...no doubt the Lord had his hand on you. I'm glad to know there were no serious injuries. I tell you man, it really makes you appreciate how fortunate we are because there are near misses like that all the time, and while injuries do happen occasionally, for the most part it's a pretty safe sport (as long you know what you are doing). Most of the nasty injuries I have seen have been with people who do not have experience and try to do something they should not be attempting.

Vince, I have seen that happen at least 10 times at my old gym before we started using safety chains. I am sure you have done squats with chains before. We use to set them up above and below parallel. Only have one spotter is very dangerous (not only for yourself, but for others). It is well worth the money to buy some 10-12ft lenghts for each side and when you get upto heavy weight, throw them over the top of the monolift. I have some old video if you need to see how we use to set up. You are very fortunate from the video.
What happens a lot of times is when we finish the lift, we get out of groove and either lean forward or push back too hard to finish. This can throw you forward, allowing the bar to roll off your back. Keep your shoulder blades together and the bar in the correct position. I have to be honest and admit, I lost a bar one time with just 135 on my back and it rolled off. I wasn't paying attention.
I have been with guys with 800-1000 and this happen. When we used chains, it really made us appreciate even more each other.
Be Blessed My Brother, Mike

Thanks, Mike. The real problem was going to a place that doesn't even have any business having a monolift. This particular day, I decided to go there because I wanted to be in a monolift similar to what is used in the meet. I was concerned before even going there that spotters would probably be an issue. The thing that I feared the most has come upon me. From now on, I'll just squat where I always squat.
