BIBLE MEDITATION: “Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance.” 1 Peter 1:13-14
DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: The figure of speech, “gird up your loins,” is mentioned a few times in God’s Word. Here’s a phrase we use today to describe the same thing: roll up your sleeves. It means to get serious about what you’re doing. We need to get serious about being Christians and living for God. One aspect of that is to have a single mind. Have you ever heard the expression, Don't put all your eggs in one basket? I believe Peter would tell us to do that, then label that basket, “Jesus is coming back!” We need to live with a passionate, burning focus upon His return.
ACTION POINT: What are you doing today in anticipation of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ?

I have heard this many times before...kinda like "strap it up". Maybe we need this on a t-shirt? Gird up thy loins like a man!
God Bless, Mike
