So far, here are my PRs at a meet: Strict Curl: 67.5 kg [149 lbs] Bench Press: 145 kg [320 lbs] Deadlift: 210 kg [463 lbs]
Yes, these are all higher than my gym PRs. What is the problem? I am never able to hit all three at the same meet. If I did, that would give me a total of 422.5 kg [932 lbs], which would be a new PR.
That would give me a total coefficient between 5.6378 to 5.8196. Either way, that would also be a new PR for me.
What do you do so that you are able to hit 1RM for all three lifts at the same meet?

Did you hit that curl at 165? That's mighty fine arm strength!
Before I get TOO far off topic....
I don't even think in terms of PRs at a meet. I open with what I can hit for 3 reps, then go by how that felt. A second attempt may be 95% of my 1RM, 90%, 100%, I just don't know until that opener is out of the way.
A good rule of thumb is to ask for guidance before AND after each attempt. The LORD has never let me down. I've had a few lessons in humility, but never been forsaken! I always pray before an attempt, I reckon everyone here does.... But after an attempt just a short "Lord, what would YOU have me to do?" Then listen.
Lift up the LORD, lift up the lifters around you, then lift up heavy weights. As long as you get it in the right order you'll hit a PR at every meet, it just might not show up on the scorecard.
:')
God Bless!

I think i have said a prayer of sorts before I've lifted for years. I ALWAYS say one the the night before along the lines of oh lord let me lift to my best within my ability.
To get to that ability preparation is the key be it one lift or 6 events in strongman set a target second weight for each lift, count back your training weeks 5 - 10 depending on how you cycle up to your comps, as you get closer lower the reps but increase the weight aiming for your opener or pretty close the week before. I only train once the week before a comp, pretty light then hopefully lfe well.
as an example for D/L I'm cycling up, 210, 220, 230, 235, 240, 245, lift 252.5 ? Hopefully a PB. For the strongman in the summer I dropped all assistance work two weeks before and just did the events.
Most importantly, listen to your body, its never easy to do PB's in all lifts but if you can concentrate on how you feel as you buld up it will help, if you are tired, drop back a bit, rest is that extra rep!

Doug, That is similar to me. I always pray before an attempt to ask for permission and pray after each attempt to give thanks. I also use an opener that is something I can hit 4 reps in the gym.

gymmonster, That is very similar to me. I cycle up to the meet also. My last workout is generally the Monday before a Saturday meet and only use my opening attempts for reps. Light workout.

Are you doing all your openers on that Monday? The week of the meet should just be some remedial work, no bar weight. I do my deadlift opener a month out; squat opener at 3 weeks out and bench opener 2 weeks out. And why reps? A single should suffice. At two weeks, I wouldn't go more than 40%-50% on the actual lifts. Speed singles for the deadlift and triples on the bench. Can't help you on the curls.
It just seems like you're going too heavy the final week or two when you should be resting and conserving energy.

That may be true on going too heavy the final week. Will keep that in mind.
I have found that I want an opener that I can do for reps in the gym. It is a confidence issue.
