If I take more than a day, I will be flat for the meet.

In my early years, when the meet was on Saturday, I squatted and benched to about 80% on Monday and then SQ/BP about 50% on Wednesday. So 2 days off.
Now, my last SQ is about a week. DL about 2 weeks. Heavy bench about 10 days. Monday of meet week, just some low back work and some speed bench on Wednesday.

None of the above.
I have my last workout on the Monday before a Saturday meet, giving me about 5 days of rest [less than a week but more than 2 days].
Then I only do for 4 reps what I plan to do as opener. Want to make sure I can get them.

I have tried about every type of rest before a meet and the one that produces optimal results is what vince148 said. If you are going to lift heavy, rest a lot. My last workout will be on late thursday/early friday morning 1 week prior to the meet. That guarantees enough rest to full recuperate for the meet. If you truly want to lift heavy you have to rest. I kind of do what Bryan does. I work up to my opener that week and do it a few times, but other than that I don't go heavier. On squat and deadlift I allow a little more time. I find I can bench closer to the meet than I can with the other two...deadlift being the one that requires the most rest.

Although I do my benching closer to the actual meet than he does (needed to clarify)

I'm really close to what Vince does. Monday of meet week I work up to the squat/bench openers. Buffman and I had a brief conversation about this, and in terms of recovery, I'm smack dab in between Vince and Will. Two years ago I worked out right up to the Wed before a meet and went 7/9. Last meet I took off a week and went 6/9. Go figure......
God Bless.
