I have a question: since injuring my lower spine (L-3&4)MRI showed "bulging disc's with no nerve involvement." This happened 6/2/07 while using 220lbs on the fifth rep of "high pulls." How should I approach lifting when I finally do start again?Should I not lift "heavy" anymore? Should I stick to more reps/less weight? Should I quit ? I value your opinion's very much, and appreciate any and all advice.Thank you in advance.

Most of the population walks around with asymptomatic bulging discs. Rehab and strengthen your low back. Do a lot of core work and see an upper cervical chiropractor to restore structural balance. I had a disc injury in the late 70s. I was training within 8 weeks and competed about a month later at full strength.

I agree - work the core. Don't quit, certainly not! It's discouraging but try not to let it turn you off from the sport. Do what you can comfortably and eventually you will be back to where you were if not better.
God Bless, William
