I competed last sat 3-10-07 and I am usually beat up for 2-3 weeks after. I feel a little sore etc but had an ok workout anyways.
I had my brother down from michigan yesterday to work out with me. He is a big guy and used to have a big bench until he hurt his shoulder. I showed him about using a two board for his bench and how he can still bench heavy weight and possibly compete in a shirt without hurting that shoulder. He liked the boards and did a couple sets of 315 for 8 off a 2 board. He said his shoulder felt good and he looks forward to being able to bench again.
Raw Bench: warmups- 135 x 15 / 225 x 8 / 300 x 1 slow with a stretch work sets- 330 x 10 (felt pretty easy) 375 x 4 (this hurt a little...ok a lot) 400 x 1 ( had to rerack at first it felt funny) ( I immediately took the handoff again and made a slow descent with good form with a long pause)
seated rows- 185 x 15 / 225 x 10 / 285 x 10 (cooncentrated on a squeze at the end of each rep)
close grip presses- 350 x 5 / 350 x 4

Thanks guys.
My brother was a 455 raw bencher at 215 body wgt 2 years ago. I hope the boards help him. I know he misses the clanging of the 45 lb plates.
