So, I’m new to this board and see a lot of post by the “Way of Life” websites. I’m not understanding some of the material (or finding it hard to believe some of the material posted on here). I’m not sure exactly what is said in this 2-hour video above but I can assure you that a contemporary Christian artist like Jennifer Knapp does convey the Christian heart. I’ve been to several Jennifer Knapp concerts, read articles on her, bought her CD’s, and heard her pray in humility to thousands. Only God knows and judges the heart of a man but what I see from Jennifer is a heartfelt, sincere, transparent musician who loves the Lord with all her heart. She is reaching people that would not otherwise be reached with the music she plays and she does direct the glory to Jesus Christ. Yes, I think we should definitely check all things against the Word of God to see what holds to the Truth. I wouldn’t say that Dimond Rio, Jimi Hendrix, Carrie Underwood, etc are Contemporary Christian artist, but rather, may have had a song or two trying to reach out to the Christian community. Jennifer Knapp, Third Day, Steven Curtis Chapman, Bebo Norman, MercyMe, Among Thorns, Mat Redman, Casting Crowns, Darlene Zschech, Heather Miller, Jeremy Camp, Natelie Grant, etc….these are heartfelt and inspiring Christian artist who give God the glory in their music. Many of their songs are just as glorifying and meaningful as our traditional Christian hymnals like “Amazing Grace” or “The Old Rugged Cross” (which I will say are some of my favorites). The Word tells us to sing to him a new song; Psalm 33 says “play skillfully, and shout for joy. For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.” Psalm 98 “Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. The LORD has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations.” This is something for each to decide individually but I believe that God deals with hearts and that he loves to here the praise of His people…praise is not necessarily a sound but a heartfelt shout of thanks and praise from the heart. God bless!

Sir, I used to listen to CCM as well as the lead singer for Shielded [similar to style of dcTalk]. I repented of it.
This site is an information website. A lot of well researched documents and articles there. They are meant for helping Christians to grow in their fellowship and obedience to Christ.

Sir, I used to listen to CCM as well as the lead singer for Shielded [similar to style of dcTalk]. I repented of it. This site is an information website. A lot of well researched documents and articles there. They are meant for helping Christians to grow in their fellowship and obedience to Christ. Bryan, I understand that God deals with hearts on an individual basis and I'm glad you were able to repent of what was behind the scenes in your heart and get right with God. I understand that was your experience with "Shielded" and that something didn't go right for you. With that said when Crystal Lewis sings "People get ready Jesus is coming" there is nothing that violates God Biblical truth's...now is it wrong because there is a drum beat in the background and people label it CCM...I would say not! Does it encourage believers to get right with Jesus and repent and prepare for the coming of Christ....I think it does. Thus, it is glorifying to Christ as it gives Him the honor and turns peoples eyes and hearts to Him. How do I know....Crystal Lewis was one of the first CD's I bought when I gave my life over to my Savior and King Jesus Christ. It encouraged me to press into God, to open up my heart to Him. Personal testimony is a powerful thing....I've been encouraged (by Christian music) and pressed in harder at certain times in my walk with Christ. I just ask you to consider not putting God in a box as He is a mighty and awesome God with boundless desires to know us and to hear the praise of his people! Sing to him a new song...dance like David danced...because David is a great example of a man who sought after the heart of God with all he had!!
