In the Garden, Eve felt Fruit was good to eat, good to look at and would make her wise. She hit the trifecta of 1John 2:16; Lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and the pride of life.
The fruit didn’t make Eve sin. The devil didn’t make Eve sin. Eve exorcised her free will and gave in to her baser fleshly urges.
We see in 1 Cor. That God always provides a way around or through the periods of trial and temptation. We do not have to submit to temptation. Jesus took on life as a human and was tempted beyond what we know. He knows what we go through and provides for us. Isaiah admonishes us to wait on/in God and we will be rewarded and renewed and lifted up.
God wants a relationship with us and provides for us in those times where we submit to our flesh. If and as we confess our sins to Jesus he is consistent and will forgive our sins and remember them no more. Any guilty feelings after that are not of God and should be fought through the Spirit and put behind us.
There are many issues being argued today in Christian circles that are not related to salvation and an individuals well being. Romans 14 allows for these non essentials to exist without being a breach in the body.
Let’s get past this music issue. One side is convinced one way, the other side, is convinced another way. Be right with God.
I read once that an older Biker was asked about his tattoos and being accepted in public. He responded: “The only difference between people with tattoos and those without is that the people with tattoos don’t care if you don’t have any…”
