My name is Newton Romualdo and I am 46 years young. I was born in Sao Paulo Brazil and my parentscame the US when I was two years old. I am definitely Americanized being raised in Maple wood New Jersey.I attended Columbia High school in Maplewood NJ. My dad wanted me to play soccer but I fell in love withfootball as a preteen, and I started working out at the age of 14. I was tall but skinny and by my senior year,in high school I put on a lot of muscle, weighing in at about 205 pounds. I played full back and defensive end.My Senior year in high school I sprained my left ankle just before school started, so I played Right Guard on theoffensive line. I earned The Most Valuable Lineman Award for my efforts. I played one year of college football at Kean University in Union NJ a Division 3 college. I became the startingfullback after our second game. It was a great time and a lot of fun. I also played Semi-Pro football for theNJ Oaks Club based out of Plainfield NJ. So working out with weights and power lifitng helped me out immensely in my football years. I have a son named Daniel who is 27 and a daughter Krysytyn who is 25. I am currently divorced and single.I also have an older brother, Mario and younger brother, Rich who I played sports with. I am a Christian and for the past 5 years God has let me use my faith and the love of working out together in aFaith Based, Non Profit Organization named, The Mighty Gibbors. We have a workout gym located in Dover NJwhich is 7,000 sq.ft. with an indoor track and plenty of weights to use. It more of a hard core gym, not at alllike a Bally's fluff gym. We play rockin Christian music only, we have a Prayer List on a white board where memberscan request prayers for themselves or loved ones. And with every prayer that has been answered we put a check mark nextto that prayer to show that God does indeed hear our prayers and He answers them. The gym keeps many teens of the streets at nightand we have a moral message as well. 95 % of the equipment we have was donated to us by organizations, schools, churches and individualswho heard of what our mission was. The name of the gym is called: The Mighty Gibbors Strength Center, where we are dedicated to strengthening your body, soul and spirit! It is open Monday - Friday 7pm to 10pm and we ask for a $5.00 weekly donation. Our address is 79-C Bassett Hwy.Dover, NJ 07801 phone # is 973-303-3645. We also have an out reach team called The Mighty Gibbors Army of Strength, where we do a lot of the same feats of strengththat the World's Strongest Man do. Metal Bar Bend, Log Press, Iron Cross Hold, 500 pound Farmer's walk, and we flip an 800 poundtire named Goliath. But we claim we are stronger than the World's Strongest Man, because God put's His Super on our Natural and we becomeSuper Naturally strong! We just did a show March 21, at Sparta Athletic Club for about 300 high schoolers. The word Gibbor is an ancient Hebrew word defined as: powerful, champion, chief, warrior, giant, mighty, strongman, and man of valor. One of God's names and one of Jesus' names is El Gibbor. El is short for Elohim, which means God, and Gibbor means Mighty in theHebrew language. I really started to work out for football and I did a couple of Power lifting contests, non sanctioned, and now we have a power lifting contestat our gym once every six months. The third Saturday of April and October. It is called The Mighty Christian Power Lifting Contest and weare at VI, our sixth one which will be held April 18 2009 at 12 noon. Our Guest Speaker will be former NY Giants football player andTwo-Time Super Bowl Champion Lee Rouson. Although I got started later in life with power lifting I am offering ohters who are younger and liketo work out, to get introduced into the sport of power lifting through our more friendly contests. Our first show we had 4 particpants, and our lastcontest we had a high of 15 competitors. The most I've benched is 350 pounds, deadlift 440 and squated 400, I am 6'-1' and weigh about 320 pounds now.
