DAILY WISDOM
“Every word of God [is] pure: he [is] a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” [Proverbs 30:5]

BATTLES IN THE PROMISE LAND
Joshua 1:1-9
Egypt represents a person’s life before salvation – one of bondage to sin.
The wandering in the wilderness is symbolic of a Christian in disobedience to God and lacking spiritual maturity – we call this being backslidden or carnal Christians.
The Promise Land is not Heaven, but the place here and now that the believer is supposed to live [in the will of God]. We can leave the wilderness and enter the Promise Land, but there will be battles to fight. We know there are no enemies or battles in Heaven for the believer; hence the Promise Land is now.
1. Jericho – battle with the world [1 John 1:2:15-16]
God does not ask us to fight or reform the world – It is His job to either fight or change the world. Too many Christians want to get involved in fighting to reform the government or other social issues. No matter how justified the cause may be, it is not the responsibility of the believer. We are told to go fish in the pond, not to clean up the pond.
Our orders for how to deal with the world come directly from God – the Bible.
The world is going to think that our behavior is different and strange.
We overcome the world by faith not by fighting. [1 John 5:4-5]
2. Ai – battle with the flesh [Romans 7:18; 8:1-10]
The flesh appears to be an easy battle to fight and we lots of times get overconfident. We allow ourselves to compromise to our own desires and lusts instead of obeying every command of God. Sometimes we do it because we are just lazy.
More Christians lose battles to the flesh than to the world.
When we lose our battles to the flesh, many times others around us will pay the consequences.
3. Gibeon – battle with Satan [Ephesians 6:11]
Satan is the deceptive one, the father of lies. [John 8:44]
Satan wants you to compromise with him.
Satan wants you to be “yoked up”/allied with him or friends of his.
Satan will trick you into this alliance.
Before you make any decision, you need to use prayer and the Bible to find God’s will.
RELIGIOUS AWARENESS
Juche
The Juche Idea (also Juche Sasang or Chuch'e; pronounced /ʨu.ʨʰe/ in Korean, approximately "joo-cheh") is the official state ideology of North Korea and the political system based on it. The doctrine is a component part of Kimilsungism, the North Korean term for Kim Il-sung's family regime. The core principle of the Juche ideology since the 1970s has been that "man is the master of everything and decides everything". The official biography Kim Il Sung by Baik Bong had previously described this as saying that the masters of the North Korean revolution are the Workers' Party of Korea and the Korean people, who must remake themselves under the leadership of the WPP. Juche literally means "main body" or "subject"; it has also been translated in North Korean sources as "independent stand" and the "spirit of self-reliance". Other sources have revealed other interpretations.
