The 10 Commandments - God's Revelation in the Old Testament The 10 Commandments are found in the Bible's Old Testament at Exodus, Chapter 20. They were given directly by God to the people of Israel at Mount Sinai after He had delivered them from slavery in Egypt:
"And God spoke all these words, saying: 'I am the LORD your God…
ONE: 'You shall have no other gods before Me.'
TWO: 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.'
THREE: 'You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.'
FOUR: 'Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.'
FIVE: 'Honor your father and your mother.'
SIX: 'You shall not murder.'
SEVEN: 'You shall not commit adultery.'
EIGHT: 'You shall not steal.'
NINE: 'You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.'
TEN: 'You shall not covet your neighbor's house; you shall not covet your neighbor's wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor's.'

Well thanks Mike. now i know where I can find these commandments. because though I know things in the Bible. I am now trying to learn where they are at. A lot of people believe that these commandments are just a bunch of rules we are suppose to follow. and of course many would say this is by some invisible GOD. another words some are saying what right does this invisible GOD tell me what to do? There have been people in fact trying to work with The ACLU American Civil Liberty Union together trying to take The Ten Commandments out of court Houses. for they call it offensive writing. . Whether they succeed to take them down or not God's commandments will still exist both in The Bible and of The Spiritual Laws of GOD. What many don't seem to understand is these are not just Law commandments. But Because GOD is A GOD of Love these commandments are too of Love. . GOD is not trying to make us become Robots. but rather He is being A Heavenly Father who teaches his Children how to live. Those who Walk in The Ways of The Lord are Walking in The Righteous way of Goodness Love and Truth. Those who dint walk in The ways of The Lord are walking in rebellion, falsely and a road to their own destruction for they have rejected True Love.

I had a discussion the other day about what Thou shalt not covet and what it means. The person I was talking with says that it is anything that you see someone have that you wish you had. I disagree. If I see my neighbor has a new car and I like it and I want one that in and of itself is not covetting. Now lets say that I can't afford one. Now I have ill feelings towards my neighbor because he has something I don't. That is covetting.
Another thought is the part of covetting his wife. That would be a different story as it is also adultery.
Also, if I want something he has out of a desire to be better than(or just as good as) him that is covetous.
But, just because I like something someone else has and decide to get one myself isn't the meaning here. It's like going to a resteraunt and seeing someone eating a nice steak and telling the waiter, "I'll have what he's having."
