I had been praying on this for awhile and joined them this past week. I think it is an excellent group that supports drug tested organizations/meets. They have a real good moral conduct code. I encourage anyone that is interested to check them out. They have decided to support our cause as well, which is to help bring the lost sheep home to the flock! Several members on here are members as well. They are starting chapters throughout the U.S.A. northstarpride.proboards77.com/index.cgiGod Bless, Mike

Hi, I am interested in knowing about bringing some powerlifters to our Christian school in Youngstown, Ohio. Can you tell me how this would work?

Trying to figure out what you want? Are you wanting to start an NSP Chapter, your school wanting to run a meet or are you wanting an exhibition/testimoney?
Just curious and Glad to have you aboard, God Bless, Mike

Hey Seth, first off the Church is for worshipping our Lord first and foremost and I believe a workout area in a gym can be used for powerlifting. If a Church or gym doesn't want you there, you have to look elsewhere. I would ask the gym first thing do they allow powerlifting....if not....move on. You also can try to learn motivation within yourself. I would encourage you to pray to God for and answer. First and foremost I hope you are saved? That is the most important factor, since you are working out at a Church I figured you were. If so, then the awesome God we have will give you the answer.
God Bless Brother and Don't be a stranger!

I just think they dont understand powerlifting. They think its all a bunch of steroided 300 pound guys screaming to the top of their lungs. Me and a friend of mine have been there for months training for powerlifting and i havent heard one complaint. Its only the guy in charge, his name's Alan, he's the only one that says he doesn't want it. And yes i am saved.

Seth, awesome news about being saved. Do you live here in N.C.? If so, you may want to bring them to a contest Iron Boy so they can see what powerlifting is about, also give the guy a link to this website and let him check it out. He may see it in a different light?
God Bless Brother, Mike

NSP has some really great people involved with them. I have been very impressed with the attitude and enthusiasm shown...that's what made me want to join. New chapters are starting up and this is exciting. I think it taking the sport in the right direction

Thanks for letting us know about this organization I will look into it and see what they have to offer. When I was looking for A weightlifting support Group . I did not want to join A Worldly site. not because I don't like them. it is because many weightlifters or and such can be full of pride in them self. I don't want to compete against people who have attitudes like that. But I like friendly competition like me and my friend Tim has done. . I am not considered The worlds best lifter. But other lifters see that I try hard and do pretty well for my size. I try to lift safely. i would not be involved in Worlds strongest men like activities. . This is over board to me and one wrong move and you could put yourself out for life. in weight lifting you can warm up and stay within your level of lifting. . . But i think trying to pick up cars and pull semis are pretty high risks that i would not take. I would rather be strong and Healthy. than to be the strongest man who is putting myself in too much danger.
