I have not been active for most of the past 3 plus years in most rigorous exercise activities. This even includes not using bikes or treadmills. I started up a few brief times. My momentum could not get off the ground. . I used to have a work out partner Tim. . Today I need to try to do this solo.
I'm going to have to pretty much start all over again. Again as if almost like I had never done these things before. . This month only is stretching and some walking around the house. . I recently had surgery and the doctors told me not to lift anything too heavy until March. I will start doing some routines at home. Later I will get joined over at one of these fitness and Lifting warehouse environments. . It makes no sense as of now to join a place yet when I am not ready for anything close to heavy. .
I used to jump into this quick. I would rapidly try to get past 225 bench. This time it is not going to be a rapid shot. Rather I am taking a lot more caution and allowing it to be a gradual climb up. . But everyone does not have to do the same way I do. If one feels within a few week they are ready for serious lifting I won't try to prevent them. Each person should know their the body limit and strength. Everyone has their own routine and schedule planned out. .
I have been lifting on and off since Junior High school. 80 pounds was the heaviest I was able to lift back then. And that was even doing a lot of lifting and practice. . I probably started out with 20 to 30 pounds at the most. So even as a kid to be able to lift more than a fourteen pounds six cement plates on each side was a great accomplishment. By the tenth grade I was able to do 135 a few times. . When I graduated my best was 265 pounds. . Not bad for someone who was often much less than 200 pounds in body weight. .
Today I weigh over 316 pounds. So I am also have to be losing weight just as much as gaining strength..but I have learned one lifts weights along with some cardio machines one can lose quite a bit amount of weight. So once I get to full speed I think my weight will drop a lot back in the 200 hundred and something pounds. It’s a long story to how I got this high. But in another thread I will share a little about my body weight and diet..
Now I would like to ask anyone here. Do you have any tips on starting out approaches to advance to the regular level of lifting? What kind of advise of any kind to help me to get back on track again?. . I do have some of my own ideas. But you might have ideas that I never thought of before. .Maybe your input can have some impact on my routines. I will also give my word if I take any advice whether this works or does not work for me. I have not been into the high lifting levels as some of the members here have. But I once got close to the power lifting level.
