Yeah, that is awesome news Steve.
I am going to try and get ready for the national aau push pull meet in August. If anyone is interested in coming down and fellowship with us during this meet, come on. There is no qualifier for it. It will be here in N.C. in August. It will be an awesome place for a meet, in the Brock Center. This is a theater.
God Bless, Mike

Meet update: Yesterday's meet was a good time. We are blessed in Utah by having some great and very helpful national and world level judges. Small meet about 12 lifters. It was AAU. I have been back training for real for about 5 months after having been off for 6 months due to surgery on my hand and a knee scope.
I lifted raw. I offered to go in just shoes and socks but I was strongly urged to include a shirt, skivvies and singlet. I gave in to the urgings of the masses.
Opened at 140 kg, 3 whites. Went to 147.5 got it 2-1. Went to 155 and missed it. We were lifting on a very tall Forza bench 18"+ high. I have short legs so I used plates under my feet. As I started my leg drive the right plate slid some and lost the attempt there. I honestly can't say whether I would have gotten it or not if everything had been solid.
So a good time. The body held up ok and I have a new starting point to work from. Oh yeah AAU is new to UT so the division was open so I have a state record....lol
Another blessing: the state chair for the AAU heard what my crew did for me and decided to jump on board and told me he was covering the upcoming meet in September for me. Very humbling thing. God is good.
So next meet: September 17 (?) AAU Peach Days in Brigham City UT.

Alright Stump! Man, forget the pounds, the white lights, the records, I'm just blessed head to toe to see you hitting good numbers at your comeback meet! If that don't get your fire started, your wood is wet!
Thanks, brother, for sharing that with all us!
God Bless. Doug

Thanks Doug. I really appreciate the encouragement. I think I had heard that Kara Bohigian had said she might hit just about 130 - 135 kg raw. I am happy to have beaten her... Becca Swanson is next if the rapture doesn't happen soon...

My next one will be September or October, depending upon how the Lord allows my back to recover.

Meet Results Fun little AAU meet today in Brigham City, UT. This is my second meet back and I feel pretty good about it. I benched raw trying to bring the hand/wrist along at a moderate pace.
We were lifting on a Bovine bench. Decent surface, no slip at all.
Opened @ 150kg - 330# - 3 whites 2nd @ 155kg - 341# - 3 whites 3rd @ 160kg - 352# - missed @ 3/4
I thought the 3rd was going to go but it just stalled. Ah well, next time. Hand/wrist feel great. God is Good.
Training starts Monday.
