LESSON 9: SOWING THE SEED
Soul Winning Scripture Verses:
“The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” [Proverbs 11:30]
“And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” [Matthew 4:19]
If you have been doing your previous assignments, you should have:
1. Shared your testimony of how you got saved with at least three other people.
2. Invited ten different people to church.
3. Memorize Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Romans 5:8, Romans 10:13, John 3:16, Isaiah 53:6, and Proverbs 11:30.
4. Placed 77 Gospel tracts in various public and private locations.
5. Personally given 10 Gospel tracts to people that does not fellowship with our congregation.
Sowing The Seed
In Matthew 13:1-23, we find the parable of the sower. This is a perfect illustration of how we are to be soul winners in this world. Fill in the blanks.
· “He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious , shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” [Psalm 126:6]
· “Now the parable is this: The is the of God.” [Luke 8:11]
· “I have , Apollos ; but God gave the . So then neither is he that any thing, neither he that ; but God that giveth the . Now he that and he that are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's , ye are God's building.” [1 Corinthians 3:6-9]
· "Being born again, not of corruptible , but of incorruptible, by the of God which liveth and abideth forever." [1 Peter 1:23]
Do not be discouraged in your work for the Lord. Every time we witness will not necessarily produce fruit. Regardless, if the testimony was delivered from our heart to the heart of the lost, a seed has been planted. We have no control over whether or not the seed germinates and produces a stem, roots, a plant, limbs, leaves, buds, and then fruit. We have no control over whether or not the sun shines, the clouds drop water, or if the soil of the heart refuses the seed. We only have control over how the message is delivered.
What Could Possibly Be More Embarrassing Or Humiliating Than Having A Sack Full Of Seeds Left Over At The End Of The Harvest?
Assignment [Check when complete]:
1. Invite three different people to church over the next week.
2. Place 21 Gospel tracts anonymously in any location that you can find – that is only 3 tracts per day.
3. Personally give a Gospel tract to six different people that do not fellowship with our congregation over the next week.4. Memorize Matthew 4:19.
