Does anyone have an opinion on these for increasing grip strength? I'm thinking of getting some,I have a pair of store bought type that are relatively difficult.I can keep these closed for about a minute.Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and GOD bless

Mine is alot better than it used to be.I have had some success with "wrist rolls",I also do reverse rolls.I try to not use the wrist wraps for anything lighter than 80% on dead-lift's or any of the "pull" exercises.

I train my grip strength just by hanging onto something for a long time! Lad I lift with use some sort of roller for increasing their forearm strength and this seems to work well.

I've had them for about 3-4 weeks now and I've noticed some improvement. Start with the trainer, these are VERY hard to close. I have the trainer and the #1. I couldn't even close the #1 when I got them, now I can close it all the way. Still can't rep with it though.
Hopefully you don't wear lifting gloves (I don't) because these are knurled like the BBs and will tear your hands up if they're not rough already from lifting. My hands are pretty rough, and it still took a few days to get rid of the initial soreness.
I recomend them along with other grip work. I've been using plate pinches and hex head DB holds (holding the DB veritical by the head for as long as you can). It's working, slowly.

I do a lot of grip training...plate holds(for example two 25's with two finger till failure), coc, barbell holds, thick d.bell holds(Sometimes just seeing how much i can break of the ground with the thick d.bells)
God Bless

I started only being able to close the number 2 and can now get the 3 all the way. The trick actually came from Jim Glassman (pro strongman). I would train on them about 3x per week, but the real strength came from hanging from a bar. He showed me to hang a 1 1/2 inch pipe from the top of my rack and keep trying to hang from it until I could do pull ups on it (no straps). This took about 2 years and I can still only do 3 of them, but my strength has gotten much better.

Hey thaneharrison, thanks for the tip! Do you use a full grip or partial?

The COC's are good but not great for improving the grip. For the most part they're good only for closing grippers.

The COC's are good but not great for improving the grip. For the most part they're good only for closing grippers. I have to respectfully disagree there. If you're just repping them, maybe. I do them with anywhere from a 2-5 second hold on each rep, and I've seen a great carryover to my deadlift strength. That's just my experience. There's no substitute for gym grip work, but these are nice to have in your glove box when you've been neglecting your farmers walks and pinch flips.

What I like better (and so did my wallet) was this Ivanko product: cutleryscience.com/reviews/ivanko_gripper.htmlIt's spring loaded so you can go from minimal to something like 325 lbs of resistance. I think all the other suggestions are good though as well - it's a good supplement to real gym grip work.
